My Medic Plus Come to Expect the Best in Town.

CHU Saint-Pierre

Since its inception, the Hospital Saint-Pierre maintains ties with the Faculties of Medicine of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
Associated with these universities, CHU Saint-Pierre has retained its vocation of public hospitals, teaching and research, in collaboration with the Academic Hospital of Erasmus and Jette.
Thus with the presence of many tutors, the hospital welcomes students for medical training courses in various branches of medicine. Furthermore, as part of their training as specialists, CHU Saint-Pierre welcomes young doctors in internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, ophthalmology.
In collaboration with universities and research laboratories, the CHU Saint-Pierre is also involved in projects of clinical and translational research, offering patients the benefit of recent diagnostic and therapeutic progress.

History:

The CHU Saint-Pierre provides a public service remit. As such, it must meet the needs of the population and must focus on what the user is constantly in the center of its concerns.
The Hospital provides a permanent home, without discrimination of people, respectful of the poor by guaranteeing everyone a single treatment, in agreement with the basic respect for human beings and in accordance with ethics and professional secrecy.

Consistent with our mission:

  • We provide care of varying complexity in the areas preventive, curative or palliative in an emergency when necessary and continuously evaluating their adequacy and effectiveness;
  • We combine our care functions and missions of public health, and social solidarity. They include the quality of care, prevention, screening, care of the poor and the organization back to life outside hospital;
  • We play a primary role as guardian of safety;
  • We practice teaching assignments and clinical research.

As the patient is central to our concerns, it is essential for us to take into account the time, the evolution of society and progress associated with modernity. As such, we must not confine ourselves to adapt to this, but we must anticipate future developments, particularly related to health problems, new methods of management, exploration of new technology, whether therapeutic or diagnostic, in the continuing effort of maintaining or enhancing the quality of medical service rendered.
