As the health personnel of the foundation began to think more and more on these lines and more links between Profession and diseases became apparent with a definite link pattern emerging. It also became apparent that something must be done to reduce the incidents of both occupational accidents and diseases and earnest efforts were started in that direction, tackling these problems at the level of foundations existing existing hospitals for almost 4 years revealed that Occupational Health being a full time task, a separate body would be necessary if the were to take contemplated shape.
With this background, birth was given to LOKMANYA MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTRE, on 28th February 1985 to concentrate on the aspect of occupational Health & Research.
In the meantime Lokmanya Hospitals at Chinchwad and Nigdi served as the service organs of the L.M.R.C, were thoroughly upgraded to keep with the pace with the latest technology.Memorandum of Association was signed with the Swedish Collaborators for medical care and a contract was entered into with ICHC a leading Hyderabad based consultancy regarding management aspect.LMRC also offers certain medical courses for MBBS doctors.
