Dr. Fatima Zahra Benali

Dr. Fatima Zahra Benali is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Mustapha Pacha — one of Algiers' premier teaching hospitals and a major referral center for women's health in northern Algeria. With 16 years of clinical experience, Dr. Benali manages the full spectrum of obstetric and gynecological conditions, with particular expertise in high-risk pregnancy and gynecologic surgery.

Algeria has invested significantly in its healthcare system, and CHU Mustapha Pacha provides a high standard of specialist obstetric care. Dr. Benali works within the hospital's multidisciplinary maternal-fetal medicine team, providing specialist oversight for pregnancies complicated by hypertension, diabetes, multiple gestation, and fetal anomalies.

She trained in France and obtained her DES in Gynécologie-Obstétrique before returning to Algeria, bringing French clinical standards and techniques to her practice. She is an active member of the Société Algérienne de Gynécologie-Obstétrique and contributes to training medical students and residents at the University of Algiers Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Benali's obstetric practice specializes in high-risk pregnancy, including management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (pre-eclampsia, gestational hypertension), gestational and pre-gestational diabetes, multiple pregnancies, and pregnancies with fetal growth restriction. She performs caesarean sections and manages complex vaginal deliveries. In gynecology, she performs hysterectomy (abdominal and laparoscopic), myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, hysteroscopy for uterine cavity pathology, and colposcopy with cervical biopsy for abnormal smear results. She manages PCOS, menstrual disorders, and perimenopausal complaints.
