Dr. Armen Mkrtchyan

Dr. Armen Mkrtchyan is a senior cardiologist at the Armenian-American Medical Center in Yerevan — a hospital that represents the connection between Armenia's domestic healthcare and the large Armenian-American diaspora that has contributed to developing Western-standard medical services in the country. The center provides advanced specialist care to both Armenian nationals and diaspora Armenians who return to Yerevan for medical treatment.

With 20 years of cardiology practice, Dr. Mkrtchyan manages the significant cardiovascular disease burden of Armenia's population, which has one of the region's highest rates of coronary artery disease, driven by high smoking prevalence, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.
