Dr. Andrew Brooks

Dr. Andrew Brooks is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon based at Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, one of Australia's leading private hospital groups. With more than 20 years of specialist experience, he has developed a focused practice in hip and knee reconstruction, managing both primary and complex revision joint replacement alongside sports knee surgery for active patients of all ages.

Dr. Brooks trained through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons orthopaedic surgical training programme and undertook a subspecialty fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty at a major European centre, giving him exposure to high-volume joint replacement practice and advanced surgical techniques that are now standard at his Melbourne practice. His hip replacement practice includes total hip replacement via anterior, posterior, and lateral approaches, with implant selection tailored to each patient's anatomy and activity level. For knee surgery, he performs total knee replacement, partial (unicompartmental) knee replacement for isolated compartment disease, and patellofemoral replacement.

For younger and more active patients, his sports knee practice encompasses ACL reconstruction using hamstring or bone-patellar tendon-bone grafts, knee arthroscopy for meniscal tears, meniscal repair, and chondral procedures.
