Dr. Nasrin Sultana

Dr. Nasrin Sultana is a consultant neurologist at Square Hospital in Dhaka, one of Bangladesh's leading private hospitals. With 14 years of clinical experience, she is recognized as one of Dhaka's experienced female neurologists, managing a broad range of neurological conditions with particular focus on stroke and epilepsy.

Dr. Sultana trained at Sir Salimullah Medical College before completing her MD in Neurology and FCPS in Neurology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). She has contributed to the development of stroke awareness and treatment protocols in Bangladesh, where stroke is among the leading causes of disability and death.

At Square Hospital, she participates in the hospital's stroke care program, providing acute stroke management including coordination of IV thrombolysis for eligible patients. Her epilepsy clinic serves patients with newly diagnosed and treatment-resistant seizure disorders, optimizing anti-seizure medication regimens.

Dr. Sultana is known for her accessibility and thorough patient communication. She manages a busy outpatient clinic serving patients from across Dhaka and patients referred from other Bangladeshi cities and from Bangladeshis returning from abroad.

Dr. Sultana earned her MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka. She completed her neurology residency and specialty training at BSMMU, obtaining both MD Neurology and FCPS (Neurology) from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons.

She has completed advanced training in EEG interpretation, epilepsy management, and stroke medicine through programs affiliated with the Bangladesh Society of Neurosciences and international continuing education workshops.

Dr. Sultana manages the full range of neurological conditions in her outpatient and inpatient practice. In stroke, she provides acute assessment, thrombolysis coordination, and secondary prevention planning. She works with the multidisciplinary stroke team at Square Hospital for complex cases.

In epilepsy, she manages newly diagnosed patients and those with treatment-resistant seizures, performing and interpreting EEG studies including routine and extended recordings. She also performs nerve conduction studies and EMG for peripheral nerve and muscle disease.

Additional clinical areas include migraine and headache disorders, Parkinson's disease management, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, vertigo, and Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Dr. Sultana has contributed to the Bangladesh Journal of Neuroscience and has presented at the Bangladesh Society of Neurosciences Annual Conference. Her interests include stroke epidemiology in Bangladesh and epilepsy management challenges in the Bangladeshi healthcare context.

She contributes to continuing medical education for junior neurologists and general practitioners through Bangladesh Society of Neurosciences programs.

Dr. Sultana sees Bangladeshi diaspora patients returning from the UK, Middle East, and Southeast Asia at Square Hospital Dhaka. She consults in Bengali and English.
