Dr. Aliaksandr Lukashenko

Dr. Aliaksandr Lukashenko is a senior interventional cardiologist at the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Cardiology in Minsk, Belarus's dedicated national center for cardiovascular research and treatment. With 20 years of clinical experience, he is among Belarus's most experienced interventional cardiologists.

The Republican Centre for Cardiology is the highest-level cardiovascular referral institution in Belarus, combining clinical care, research, and training. Dr. Lukashenko has been central to building the centre's interventional cardiology program to modern European standards.

He completed advanced training in interventional cardiology at the Russian National Medical Research Centre of Cardiology in Moscow and undertook an observership at the University Hospital of Cologne in Germany. His training across different systems gave him a broad perspective on coronary intervention techniques and protocols.

Dr. Lukashenko is an active member of the Belarusian Society of Cardiology and participates in CIS and European cardiology educational programs. He is known for his precision in complex coronary procedures and his dedication to cardiac rehabilitation as an essential component of comprehensive cardiac care.

Dr. Lukashenko graduated from the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk in 2001. He completed his cardiology residency at the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Cardiology and undertook advanced interventional cardiology training at the Russian National Medical Research Centre of Cardiology in Moscow (2005–2006). He also completed an interventional cardiology observership at the University Hospital of Cologne, Germany (2009). His PhD from the Belarusian State Medical University in 2008 focused on primary PCI outcomes in acute myocardial infarction. He is certified by the Ministry of Health of Belarus in cardiology.

Dr. Lukashenko specializes in interventional cardiology including primary PCI for acute MI, elective coronary angioplasty, and stent implantation. He performs comprehensive echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and physiological coronary assessment using FFR. He manages heart failure including optimization of guideline-directed medical therapy and cardiac device therapy coordination. He leads the centre's cardiac rehabilitation program, ensuring systematic post-MI and post-procedure rehabilitation for all eligible patients.

Dr. Lukashenko has published over 18 peer-reviewed articles in Belarusian and international cardiology journals. His research focuses on primary PCI outcomes, heart failure management in the Belarusian population, and cardiac rehabilitation effectiveness. He collaborates with cardiology centers in Russia and Poland and participates in CIS cardiology research programs.

Dr. Lukashenko speaks Belarusian, Russian, and English and sees international patients at the Republican Centre for Cardiology.
