Dr. Siarhei Kuznetsov

Dr. Siarhei Kuznetsov is a senior neurosurgeon at the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Minsk, Belarus's national referral center for complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. With 19 years of surgical experience, he has performed over 2,500 cranial and spinal procedures.

The Republican SPCCNN is the primary neurosurgical referral institution in Belarus, handling the country's most complex brain tumor cases, spinal pathologies, and neurotrauma. Dr. Kuznetsov is a key member of the brain tumor surgery team and leads the spinal surgery program.

He completed neurosurgical training at the Burdenko National Medical Research Centre for Neurosurgery in Moscow, gaining exposure to one of the world's highest-volume neurosurgical centers. He undertook additional training in minimally invasive spine surgery at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden, Germany.

Dr. Kuznetsov is a member of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) and participates in Eastern European neurosurgery collaborative programs. He is known for his surgical precision and his commitment to evidence-based neurosurgical practice.

Dr. Kuznetsov obtained his MD from the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk in 2002. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the Republican SPCCNN and undertook advanced training at the Burdenko National Medical Research Centre for Neurosurgery in Moscow (2006–2007) and minimally invasive spine surgery training at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, Dresden, Germany (2010). His PhD from the Belarusian State Medical University in 2010 focused on minimally invasive versus open lumbar discectomy outcomes. He is a member of EANS and is certified by the Ministry of Health of Belarus in neurosurgery.

Dr. Kuznetsov's surgical expertise spans cranial and spinal neurosurgery. In brain tumor surgery, he performs craniotomies with neuronavigation for gliomas, meningiomas, and metastatic tumors. In spinal surgery, he performs microscopic and minimally invasive discectomy, laminectomy, and spinal fusion for disc disease, stenosis, and instability. He manages complex neurotrauma including traumatic brain injury, intracranial hematomas, and spinal cord injuries. He also treats hydrocephalus and performs CSF shunting procedures.

Dr. Kuznetsov has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in Belarusian and international neurosurgery journals. His research focuses on minimally invasive spine surgery outcomes, brain tumor resection results in Belarusian patients, and neurotrauma management protocols. He collaborates with neurosurgical groups in Russia and Germany and participates in EANS educational programs.

Dr. Kuznetsov speaks Belarusian, Russian, and English and sees international patients for neurosurgical consultations. The Republican SPCCNN has experience coordinating care for patients from neighboring countries. Video consultations are available for MRI review and second opinions.
