Dr. Mathieu Mbaye

Dr. Mathieu Mbaye is an internist at Hôpital de l'Amitié in Bangui, one of the Central African Republic's main public hospitals. Practising in one of the world's most challenging healthcare environments, Dr. Mbaye has spent 10 years providing essential internal medicine services including the management of HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and malnutrition-related disorders. He works in close collaboration with international health organisations including MSF and WHO, which maintain a significant presence in the country. Dr. Mbaye is fluent in French and Sango, the national language, enabling effective communication with patients from all regions of the Central African Republic.

Dr. Mbaye completed his Doctorat en Médecine at the Université de Bangui, the CAR's primary university institution. He subsequently obtained a Certificate in Internal Medicine through a regional training initiative supported by international health organisations working in the country. He has participated in WHO and MSF training programmes on HIV/AIDS management, malaria case management, and tuberculosis co-infection protocols.
