Dr. Jānis Ozoliņš

Dr. Jānis Ozoliņš is a senior interventional cardiologist at Paula Stradiņa Clinical University Hospital in Riga, Latvia's largest and most prestigious academic hospital and the primary cardiovascular referral center for the country. With 20 years of clinical experience, he is among Latvia's leading cardiologists.

Paula Stradiņa Hospital has a long tradition of excellence in cardiovascular medicine and is recognized internationally for its cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology programs. Dr. Ozoliņš has been part of the team that has developed the hospital's interventional cardiology service to full European Society of Cardiology standards.

His PhD from Riga Stradins University in 2010 focused on long-term outcomes after primary PCI in Latvian STEMI patients. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and is certified by the Latvian Medical Association in internal medicine and cardiology.

Dr. Ozoliņš specializes in interventional cardiology including primary PCI for acute MI, elective coronary angioplasty, complex coronary interventions, and FFR-guided PCI. He performs comprehensive echocardiography and manages heart failure including device therapy coordination. He manages the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease including hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and valvular heart disease. He also participates in the hospital's multidisciplinary cardiac team for complex valve disease decisions.

Dr. Ozoliņš has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals including the European Heart Journal and the Journal of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on primary PCI outcomes, heart failure management, and cardiovascular risk in the Latvian population.
