Dr. Fathimath Nazeema

Dr. Fathimath Nazeema is a cardiologist at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Malé, providing non-invasive cardiac services for the Maldivian population. With 10 years of cardiology experience, she is one of the Maldives' specialist cardiologists managing the growing cardiovascular disease burden.

Dr. Fathimath completed her medical training abroad (as is standard for Maldivian specialists, given the small size of the country's medical education system) before returning to serve at IGMH. For patients requiring coronary angiography, PCI, or other invasive procedures, she coordinates medical evacuation to Sri Lanka or India.

Dr. Fathimath completed her MBBS in Sri Lanka or India and her DM in Cardiology through postgraduate training, together with a Certificate in Echocardiography. She participates in continuing cardiology education through the Maldives Medical Association and Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology.

Dr. Fathimath performs echocardiography, ECG interpretation, Holter monitoring, and stress testing. She manages hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease risk stratification, atrial fibrillation, and cardiomyopathy medically. She coordinates referrals to Sri Lanka and India for interventional procedures.

Dr. Fathimath participates in Maldives Medical Association continuing education and contributes to cardiovascular health awareness in the Maldives. She is focused on clinical practice within the Maldives' small specialist medical sector.

Dr. Fathimath sees international patients at IGMH including tourists and resort workers requiring cardiac assessment. She consults in Dhivehi and English. Video consultations are available for follow-up and second opinions.
