Dr. Nikola Radović

Dr. Nikola Radović is a cardiologist at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro in Podgorica, the country's primary tertiary hospital and the main cardiovascular referral center. With 17 years of clinical experience, he is among Montenegro's leading cardiologists.

Montenegro is a small country of approximately 600,000 people, and the Clinical Centre serves as the single national referral hospital for complex cardiovascular cases. Dr. Radović has been central to developing the cardiology service and building alignment with European Society of Cardiology guidelines.

He completed advanced cardiology training at the Clinical Centre of Serbia in Belgrade, where he trained in interventional cardiology and echocardiography in a high-volume regional center. He subsequently undertook an echocardiography fellowship at the Medical University of Vienna in Austria.

Dr. Radović is an ESC member and participates in Balkan cardiology educational networks. He is known for his thorough diagnostic approach and his commitment to improving cardiovascular care in Montenegro. He is a lecturer at the University of Montenegro Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Radović graduated from the University of Montenegro Faculty of Medicine in 2004. He completed his cardiology residency at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro and undertook advanced cardiology training at the Clinical Centre of Serbia, Belgrade (2008–2009) and an echocardiography fellowship at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria (2013). His PhD from the University of Montenegro in 2012 focused on echocardiographic predictors of heart failure prognosis. He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology and is certified by the Medical Chamber of Montenegro in internal medicine and cardiology.

Dr. Radović specializes in non-invasive cardiology with expertise in echocardiography including 2D, Doppler, stress, and transesophageal echo. He performs comprehensive cardiac evaluations including Holter monitoring and exercise stress testing. He manages heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and valvular heart disease. He coordinates with interventional colleagues for patients requiring coronary angiography and coordinates with cardiac surgeons for operative referrals.

Dr. Radović has published over 12 peer-reviewed articles in Montenegrin and regional cardiology journals. His research focuses on heart failure epidemiology in Montenegro, echocardiographic risk stratification, and cardiovascular risk factor management. He collaborates with cardiologists in Serbia and Austria and participates in Balkan cardiology networks.

Dr. Radović speaks Montenegrin and English and sees patients from Montenegro's growing tourist and expatriate population as well as diaspora patients. The Clinical Centre coordinates international patient cardiology consultations. Video consultations are available. Montenegro's EU candidacy status and growing healthcare investment make it an increasingly attractive option for regional patients.

Dr. Radović received the Montenegro Society of Cardiology Award for Clinical Excellence in 2018. He was recognized by the Clinical Centre of Montenegro for his contributions to developing the echocardiography program and for his leadership in cardiology education.
