Dr. Amina Tazi Benali

Dr. Amina Tazi Benali is a senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at CHU Ibn Sina in Rabat — Morocco's principal university hospital and the largest tertiary medical centre in the country. With 18 years of clinical and surgical experience, fellowship training in maternal-foetal medicine in France, and advanced laparoscopic surgery qualifications, she is one of Morocco's most accomplished specialists in her field. She manages high-risk obstetric cases referred from across Morocco and from other Francophone African countries, offering advanced foetal assessment and peripartum care. Her gynaecological surgical expertise in laparoscopy — hysterectomy, myomectomy, endometriosis excision, and ovarian cystectomy — represents a high standard of minimally invasive surgery. She is also an active member of FIGO and contributes to regional gynaecology education.

Dr. Tazi Benali obtained her Doctorat en Médecine at the Université Mohammed V — Rabat's leading medical school — and completed her DES (Diplôme d'Études Spécialisées) in Gynaecology-Obstetrics at the same institution, training at CHU Ibn Sina's high-volume maternity and gynaecology units. She then pursued a fellowship in Maternal-Foetal Medicine in Paris, France, training in advanced antenatal ultrasound, foetal medicine procedures (amniocentesis, cordocentesis), and management of complex obstetric conditions including twin pregnancy, foetal growth restriction, and pre-eclampsia. She additionally holds a Diplôme Universitaire in Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgery. She is a Fellow of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and participates in FIGO's educational programmes.

Dr. Tazi Benali's expertise covers high-risk obstetrics and complex gynaecological surgery. In obstetrics, she manages gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, foetal growth restriction, twin and multiple pregnancies, placenta praevia, and antepartum haemorrhage. She performs amniocentesis for prenatal diagnosis and provides counselling for chromosomal abnormalities. Her gynaecological surgical practice includes laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy for uterine fibroids, endometriosis excision, and ovarian cystectomy. She performs hysteroscopy for assessment and treatment of uterine pathology including fibroids, polyps, and uterine adhesions. Cervical cancer screening, colposcopy, and LEEP (loop excision) for cervical dysplasia are core preventive gynaecology services. She manages endometriosis, PCOS, and recurrent miscarriage with evidence-based protocols.
