Dr. Ndapwa Hashikutuva

Dr. Ndapwa Hashikutuva is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital in Windhoek — one of Namibia's leading private hospitals, affiliated with the Mediclinic group. With 14 years of experience and postgraduate training at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, she delivers high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care to Namibian women and to international patients. HIV complicating pregnancy is a major clinical focus: Namibia has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in Southern Africa, and managing HIV-positive pregnant women to prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) is central to her practice. She maintains her specialist credentials through Southern African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (SASOG) membership and continuing medical education.

Dr. Hashikutuva's expertise spans comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care. In obstetrics, she manages HIV-positive pregnant women on PMTCT regimens, high-risk pregnancies complicated by pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiple gestation, and normal as well as operative deliveries. She performs caesarean sections, including emergency and complex repeat caesareans. In gynaecology, she manages uterine fibroids surgically (myomectomy, hysterectomy) and through medical therapy, treats endometriosis, assesses and manages PCOS, and provides basic infertility evaluation. Cervical cancer screening through colposcopy, punch biopsy, and LEEP for cervical dysplasia is a major preventive component of her practice, reflecting Namibia's high cervical cancer incidence.
