Dr. Anna Wiśniewska

Dr. Anna Wiśniewska is a senior consultant paediatric pulmonologist and allergist at the Children's Memorial Health Institute (CZD) in Warsaw — Poland's premier paediatric referral centre and one of Central Europe's most advanced children's hospitals. With 19 years of clinical experience and dual board certification in paediatrics and paediatric pulmonology, she manages complex respiratory and allergic conditions in children from infancy through adolescence. CZD's national referral status means she regularly evaluates children with rare and complex conditions — cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, primary immunodeficiency, and severe food allergy — referred from across Poland. She has a strong research background, having completed a PhD at the Medical University of Warsaw, and she integrates research evidence directly into her clinical practice. Her approach is family-centred and thorough, ensuring both child and parents understand the diagnosis and are equipped to manage the condition at home.

Dr. Wiśniewska earned her MD and PhD from the Medical University of Warsaw — Poland's leading medical school. She holds dual specialist board certification in Paediatrics and Paediatric Pulmonology from the Polish Medical Examination Board (CEM). She has completed additional training in paediatric allergy and immunology through European Academy of Paediatrics workshops and ERS-ESPACI (European Respiratory Society / European Society of Paediatric Allergology and Clinical Immunology) educational programmes. Her PhD research focused on airway inflammation biomarkers in paediatric asthma. She attends European Academy of Paediatrics and ERS Paediatric Assembly sessions annually and serves on the scientific committee of the Polish Paediatric Society.

Dr. Wiśniewska's expertise is in paediatric respiratory and allergic disease. Childhood asthma — from mild intermittent to severe, therapy-resistant phenotypes — is her most frequent presentation; she performs paediatric spirometry, exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) measurement, and bronchoscopy for complex cases. Cystic fibrosis management (pulmonary aspects, mucus clearance, infection surveillance) is a sub-specialty strength at CZD, where she works as part of a multi-disciplinary CF team. Food allergy assessment including oral food challenges, and primary immunodeficiency evaluation in children with recurrent infections, are core components of her practice. She also manages primary ciliary dyskinesia, bronchiectasis, and paediatric GERD. Skin prick testing and allergy immunotherapy are within her allergy practice.
