Dr. Milan Jovanović

Dr. Milan Jovanović is a senior cardiologist at Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade, the largest and most comprehensive university hospital in the country. With 20 years of specialist experience and a PhD, he specialises in interventional cardiology and echocardiography. The Clinical Center of Serbia is the primary national referral centre for complex cardiovascular disease, performing the highest volume of cardiac procedures in the country and training the next generation of Serbian cardiologists. Dr. Jovanović's dual expertise in interventional procedures and echocardiographic imaging provides patients with a comprehensive cardiological evaluation and treatment capability within a single specialist practice.

Dr. Jovanović completed his MD at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine and undertook cardiology residency and specialist training at the Clinical Center of Serbia. He earned his PhD, contributing peer-reviewed research to Serbian and international cardiology literature. His interventional cardiology training encompassed coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and haemodynamic assessment, while his echocardiography training covered transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography for assessment of cardiac structure and function. He participates in European Society of Cardiology CME programmes and Serbian cardiology society educational activities.

Dr. Jovanović's cardiology practice covers both diagnostic and interventional domains. His interventional expertise includes diagnostic coronary angiography and PCI for acute and stable coronary artery disease, including cases of multivessel disease requiring heart team decision-making. He performs and interprets comprehensive echocardiographic assessments including evaluation of left and right ventricular function, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease in adults, and pericardial conditions. He manages acute coronary syndromes in the inpatient and outpatient settings, and provides long-term follow-up for patients with chronic coronary disease, heart failure, and post-procedural surveillance.

Clinical Center of Serbia is Belgrade's flagship academic hospital and a nationally recognised centre of cardiology excellence. Serbia's emerging medical tourism sector attracts patients from the Middle East, Russia, and the broader European region for cardiac specialist consultations and procedures at significantly lower cost than Western European centres.
