About Dr. Černay
Dr. Ján Černay is a senior neurosurgeon at University Hospital Bratislava, one of Slovakia's leading academic centers for complex surgical care. With 22 years of neurosurgical experience, he has performed over 3,000 cranial and spinal procedures and is among Slovakia's most experienced neurosurgeons.
Dr. Černay completed a neurosurgical fellowship at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Vienna (AKH Wien), training in microsurgical brain tumor surgery and minimally invasive spine procedures. Vienna's proximity to Bratislava created a natural training link that brought advanced Austrian neurosurgical techniques to Slovak practice.
He heads the spinal surgery program at University Hospital Bratislava and has introduced endoscopic spine surgery and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring to the department. He is an active EANS member and participates in European neurosurgery quality improvement initiatives.
Dr. Černay is a professor at Comenius University Faculty of Medicine and is committed to training the next generation of Slovak neurosurgeons to European standards.
Education & Training
Dr. Černay graduated from Comenius University Faculty of Medicine in Bratislava in 1999.
