Dr. Choi Soo-jin

Dr. Choi Soo-jin is a senior OB-GYN consultant at Samsung Medical Centre, one of South Korea's top-ranked teaching hospitals. With 18 years of experience, she has developed a dual specialization in high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, providing comprehensive reproductive and gynecological care to women across all life stages.

Dr. Choi trained at Yonsei University College of Medicine and completed her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Samsung Medical Centre, where she subsequently joined the faculty. She has also trained in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques, enabling her to offer minimally invasive surgical options for conditions including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and gynecologic malignancies.

She is deeply committed to patient-centred care and takes an individualized approach to reproductive health, working collaboratively with patients on family planning, fertility preservation, and pregnancy management. Her clinic accommodates Korean and international patients, and she is experienced in managing the unique concerns of women travelling to South Korea for fertility treatment or gynecological surgery.

Dr. Choi is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, the academic partner of Samsung Medical Centre.

Dr. Choi Soo-jin earned her MD from Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Severance Hospital before moving to Samsung Medical Centre for her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship.

She undertook additional subspecialty training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) affiliated training programs and completed an observership in fetal medicine at King's College Hospital, London.

Dr. Choi is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Korean Medical Association and holds subspecialty credentials in maternal-fetal medicine.

Dr. Choi's clinical practice encompasses both obstetrics and gynecology, with particular strength in managing high-risk pregnancies involving multiple gestations, preterm labor, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and fetal anomalies. She performs comprehensive fetal monitoring, amniocentesis, and coordinates multidisciplinary care for complex obstetric cases.

In gynecology, she specializes in minimally invasive procedures including total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, hysteroscopic procedures, and laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis and ovarian cysts. She also manages patients with gynecologic cancers requiring primary surgical management and collaborates with the oncology team for complex cases.

Additional areas of expertise include polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) management, menstrual disorders, and perimenopause care.

Dr. Choi has published research in the Journal of Korean Medical Science, Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, and other peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include outcomes of minimally invasive hysterectomy versus open surgery, perinatal outcomes in high-risk pregnancies, and laparoscopic approaches to deep infiltrating endometriosis.

She has presented at the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology Annual Congress and has collaborated with regional maternal-fetal medicine networks in East Asia. Dr. Choi serves as a reviewer for the Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Choi Soo-jin consults both Korean and international patients at Samsung Medical Centre, which has a well-established international patient centre. She is experienced in managing patients from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Central Asia who travel to South Korea for fertility treatment, gynecologic surgery, or specialist obstetric care.

Consultations are available in Korean and English. Video consultations are offered for initial case reviews, allowing patients to discuss their history and receive preliminary advice before travelling. The international patient team assists with medical documentation, accommodation, and post-discharge follow-up coordination.

Dr. Choi has been recognized by Samsung Medical Centre for excellence in patient care and surgical outcomes. She received the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Young Investigator Award for her research on minimally invasive surgical techniques.

She is an active member of the society's clinical guidelines committee for high-risk pregnancy management and has served as an invited speaker at obstetric and gynecology forums in Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
