Dr. Visanun Vattanakul is a senior consultant cardiologist at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok — Thailand's most internationally recognised private hospital and a cornerstone of Southeast Asia's medical tourism industry. Dr. Vattanakul completed his medical degree at Mahidol University Faculty of Medicine, Thailand's premier medical school. He undertook his internal medicine and cardiology specialty training at Siriraj Hospital — Thailand's largest and most respected academic medical centre — and completed subspecialty training in interventional cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at internationally accredited training programmes. He undertook advanced training in cardiac electrophysiology at a leading US institution, gaining expertise in electrophysiology study, catheter ablation techniques, and device therapy. He holds the FACC designation from the American College of Cardiology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand. Dr. Vattanakul's interventional cardiology practice covers the full spectrum of coronary procedures. He performs diagnostic coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) including stenting for stable and unstable coronary artery disease, and primary PCI for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). He performs complex coronary interventions including bifurcation stenting and chronic total occlusion (CTO) recanalisation.

In cardiac electrophysiology, he performs electrophysiology studies (EPS) for arrhythmia diagnosis and substrate mapping, radiofrequency (RF) ablation for atrial flutter, AVNRT, accessory pathway tachycardias, and atrial fibrillation ablation using pulmonary vein isolation.
