Dr. Iryna Savchenko

Dr. Iryna Savchenko is a medical oncologist at Ilaya Clinic in Kyiv, one of Ukraine's leading private multidisciplinary medical centers. With 16 years of clinical experience, she has developed expertise in breast cancer management and targeted oncology therapy.

Dr. Savchenko received her MD from Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv in 2005. She completed her internal medicine and oncology residency at the National Cancer Institute of Ukraine in Kyiv and undertook an oncology observership at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Centre of Oncology. Her PhD from Bogomolets National Medical University in 2013 focused on molecular subtypes of breast cancer in the Ukrainian population. She is an ESMO member and is certified by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in clinical oncology.

Dr. Savchenko's primary clinical focus is breast oncology including hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, and triple-negative subtypes. She designs and administers chemotherapy, trastuzumab and pertuzumab-based HER2-targeted therapy, CDK4/6 inhibitors, mTOR inhibitors, and hormone therapy. She also treats ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, thyroid cancer, and lung cancer. She integrates molecular tumor profiling into treatment decisions and manages patients on clinical trial protocols at Ilaya Clinic. She provides telemedicine oncology consultations for patients unable to travel.

Dr. Savchenko has published over 15 peer-reviewed articles in Ukrainian and international oncology journals. Her research focuses on breast cancer molecular subtypes in the Ukrainian population, outcomes with HER2-targeted therapy, and telemedicine oncology during conflict situations. She collaborates with ESMO-affiliated centers and participates in international cancer registry data collection.
