Dr. Olena Kovalchuk

Dr. Olena Kovalchuk is a senior pulmonologist and Candidate of Medical Sciences at Feofaniya Clinical Hospital in Kyiv — one of Ukraine's most modern and well-equipped hospitals, originally built for government officials and now serving the broader public. With 16 years of experience and deep expertise in tuberculosis, COPD, and interventional bronchoscopy, she represents the strong tradition of Ukrainian respiratory medicine. Ukraine carries one of Europe's heaviest tuberculosis burdens, including significant multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), making TB diagnosis and management a major part of her clinical work. She also manages COPD — driven by high smoking rates in Ukraine — asthma, interstitial lung disease, and lung malignancy. She also provides diagnostic workup for suspected lung malignancy and manages community- and hospital-acquired pneumonia.
