Dr. Jamshid Mirzaev

Dr. Jamshid Mirzaev is a senior consultant cardiologist at the Republican Specialized Scientific Practical Medical Center of Cardiology in Tashkent — Uzbekistan's premier cardiac institution and the leading cardiovascular care center for Central Asia's most populous country. Uzbekistan, with a population of over 36 million, carries a substantial cardiovascular disease burden, and the Republican Cardiology Center provides high-volume specialist care drawing referrals from across the country.

With 20 years of cardiology practice, Dr. Mirzaev is one of Uzbekistan's most experienced interventional cardiologists, performing diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention for both acute and elective presentations. Uzbekistan has been developing its cardiac catheterization infrastructure, and Dr. Mirzaev has been instrumental in building the center's interventional capability.

His cardiac imaging expertise — particularly echocardiography — provides essential diagnostic support for the center's cardiac surgery and electrophysiology programs. He performs advanced echocardiographic assessment for valvular disease, cardiomyopathy, and cardiac function evaluation in patients being considered for surgical and device interventions.

Dr. Mirzaev trained in Germany and holds the FESC designation, bringing European-standard cardiology to Central Asia. He communicates in Uzbek, Russian, and English.

Dr. Mirzaev obtained his MD from the Tashkent State Medical Institute and completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology residency at the Republican Specialized Scientific Practical Medical Center of Cardiology. He undertook advanced cardiology and echocardiography training at the Herzzentrum Leipzig — one of Europe's leading cardiac centers. He holds a PhD in Cardiology from the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences (medical division) and the FESC (Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology) designation.

Dr. Mirzaev's interventional practice covers diagnostic coronary angiography via radial and femoral access, and percutaneous coronary intervention for acute STEMI and NSTEMI as well as stable coronary artery disease. His echocardiography practice includes standard transthoracic, stress (exercise and dobutamine), and transesophageal echocardiography. He performs cardiac catheterization with hemodynamic assessment for valvular disease evaluation pre-surgery. In heart failure, he manages guideline-directed medical therapy and coordinates device therapy referral. He manages hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular risk factors.

Dr. Mirzaev has published in the Uzbekistan Medical Journal and has contributed to ESC registry data. He participates in the Uzbekistan Cardiological Society and presents at the national cardiology conference. He collaborates with German cardiology centers through the established academic exchange program.

The Republican Cardiology Center in Tashkent serves Uzbekistan's domestic population and receives occasional referrals from Tajikistan and other neighboring countries. Dr. Mirzaev consults in Uzbek, Russian, and English. Video consultations are available for cardiac second opinions.
