P.D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre is one of Mumbai's oldest and most respected multi-specialty hospitals, founded in 1951 by the late Shri Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja as a healthcare institution serving the city's growing population. What began as a small outdoor clinic has grown into a 351-bed ultramodern tertiary care hospital with a Medical Research Centre operating in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Boston. Located on Veer Savarkar Marg, Mahim, the hospital serves patients from across Mumbai and attracts complex referrals from across India and internationally, particularly from South Asia, Africa, and the Gulf.

Hinduja Hospital offers comprehensive tertiary care across 35+ established specialities including cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, neurosciences (neurology and neurosurgery), oncology (surgical, medical, and radiation), nephrology and urology, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics and trauma, obstetrics and gynaecology, infertility management and assisted reproduction (IVF/ICSI), paediatrics and neonatology, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, psychiatry, endocrinology, and general surgery. The department of Assisted Reproduction was responsible for the birth of the first ICSI baby in South East Asia.

Hinduja Hospital's 351 beds include 53 critical care beds across multiple ICU types (MICU, SICU, CICU, NICU, PICU). Key facilities include a cardiac catheterisation lab, nuclear medicine department, PET-CT, a 32-channel MRI with TIM technology (among the first of its kind in Mumbai), advanced radiation therapy, endoscopy suites, operation theatres for every specialty, a comprehensive blood bank and apheresis unit, clinical laboratory with full pathology and molecular biology, and a health check-up centre for executives and corporates.

Hinduja Hospital serves a significant number of international patients from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, East and West Africa, South Asia, and the Indian diaspora worldwide. The hospital was also the first hospital laboratory in India to receive accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The hospital has been recognised with the prestigious Golden Peacock Global Award for Philanthropy in Emerging Economies and conducts active Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes.
