Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre is one of India's oldest and most distinguished tertiary care multi-specialty trust hospitals, located at Dr. G. Deshmukh Marg, Peddar Road in South Mumbai — with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. The hospital was conceived in the late 1960s by Seth Lokoomal Chanrai, a philanthropist whose vision was to create an ultra-modern medical centre accessible to people of all races and creeds. It was inaugurated on 6th July 1973 by the late Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Over five decades, Jaslok has grown into a 359-bed institution with 35+ established specialties, approximately 253 consultant doctors, 124 resident doctors, and 495 qualified nurses — attracting patients from across India and internationally.

Advanced facilities include a full-service cardiac catheterisation lab for angiography and angioplasty, a 32-channel high-resolution MRI with TIM technology (first of its kind in Mumbai), modern LINAC radiation oncology, PET-CT, nuclear medicine, advanced endoscopy suite (including ERCP), operation theatres with modern anaesthesia and monitoring, an IVF laboratory with genetic screening capability, comprehensive blood bank, and a Maxillo-Facial Prosthesis unit.

Jaslok Hospital is recognised by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for postgraduate medical training in 22 specialties. It was the first hospital in Mumbai to conduct laparoscopic donor nephrectomy in a private hospital setting, and was the first private hospital in South Mumbai to be designated a 'Baby Friendly Hospital'. The hospital's Department of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics is responsible for the birth of over 2,000 babies and pioneered the first ICSI (micromanipulation) baby in South East Asia.
