AmeriMed is a recognized leader and preferred professional provider of optimal medical service and care for residents and travelers, both domestic and International. The first AmeriMed Hospital opened in Puerto Vallarta in the fall of 1996. This was followed by the opening of hospitals in Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, in March 2001, a Clinic in Los Barriles (Baja California Sur) in March 2006, and soon a New Hospital in San José del Cabo (2007). AmeriMed offers an integrated medical system which includes urgent and emergency care, obstetrics and gynecology care, family practice, and medical and surgical diagnosis and treatment. The services are delivered with comfort, security, and personal touch. They have proven expertise in emergency medicine, and are proud of the delivery of the same high quality care for routine medical and surgical problems as well. The Facilities are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with bilingual, in-house physicians. Many of our patients opt to have reconstructive or aesthetic surgery at our spa-like setting. This very discreet and private service is exclusively available at AmeriMed.

Los Cabos residents have the advantage of having access to cardiac and endovascular studies and treatments locally through the services of Amerimed Hospitals. This department is directed by the well renowned bilingual invasive cardiologist Dr. Rafael Moguel, who trained in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Moguel and his team perform diagnostic angiography, coronary angioplasty, and coronary artery stenting. He and his team also diagnosis and treat some of the most common cardiovalvular and congenital diseases of the heart. In the area of peripheral vascular diseases, he performs carotid artery stenting and peripheral vascular atherectomies, which in some cases, may prevent limb amputation. He and his team perform an average of two hundred of these various procedures per year, having done so for more than thirteen years. Dr. Moguel continues to keep abreast of advancements in his medical field, attending major conferences in some of the largest medical centers in the USA and Europe.
