A British gender clinic has reported a massive increase in the number of children seeking to transition from one sex to the other. The most significant surge in demand has come from young girls who are determined to transition to becoming males.

According to British newspaper The Times, approximately three-quarters of those attending London’s Tavistock and Portman clinic for gender reassignment treatment are girls.

The Tavistock and Portman is an NHS-funded clinic that is “for children and young people, and their families, who experience difficulties in the development of their gender identity,” and is “the only one of its kind in Great Britain,” according to its website.

There has also been a notable change in the age of those seeking to transition, with some 54% of those referred being 14 or younger.

“The number of 13-year-olds seeking treatment rose by 30% in a year to 331. Referrals of 14-year-olds went up by a quarter, to 511. The number of 11-year-olds is up by 28%. The youngest patients were 3,” wrote Andrew Gilligan at the Sunday Times.

“Across all ages, the entire year’s rise was accounted for by girls. The number of boys referred, 624, was the same as last year. The number of girls was 1,740, or 74% of patients at the service.”

Former Labour member Venice Allan, who was expelled from her political party after expressing concerns on the issues surrounding transgenderism, highlighted her concerns regarding the vulnerability of many of the children being treated at Tavistock.

“We know that compared to only 1% of the general population, around a third of young people treated at the Tavistock has an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis” she told the Christian Post. “A condition that is characterized by difficulties of social interaction.”

She added: “Vulnerable girls are being used by the transgender movement to destigmatize what is essentially a male sexual fetish.

Government investigation launched
Shocked by the fact that gender transition referrals among young people had increased by over 4,000 percent over the past decade, Equalities Minister Penny Mordaunt launched an immediate review of the situation.

“There has been a substantial increase in the number of individuals assigned female at birth being referred to the NHS,” the UK’s
Government Equalities Office said at the announcement of the inquiry last September.

“There is evidence that this trend is happening in other countries as well. Little is known, however, about why this is and what are the long-term impacts.”

The findings of Mourdant’s inquiry are set to be released imminently.

LGBT and gender identity issues among children have been a hot topic in the United Kingdom in recent years, with many schools hosting compulsory trans education classes that many in the Church have labeled as extremely damaging.

Rev Peter Hughes of St Alban’s Church, Wickersley in Rotherham recently resigned from his post as governor of a Church of England elementary school after insisting that compulsory lessons on LGBT relationships were “nothing more than state-sponsored child abuse.”

Another vicar and school governor, Rev. John Parker, was also forced to resign after the transgender lobby group “Mermaids” conducted a trans education training session with school staff and refused to let Parker share his own views.

“I believe a real threat is posed to schools from organisations such as Mermaids. They implement a new ideological tyranny – and any disagreement is at best silenced, and at worst, punished,” Parker told advocacy group, Christian Concern.

In audio taken from the training session, Parker asked politely if he could share some “different viewpoints that staff could take away,” before being bluntly shut down by the Mermaid staff.

“No, I don’t think so, John. It’s training today, it’s not time to share your viewpoint,” the Mermaid trainer can be heard responding.

“The number of children confused about their sex and gender and seeking treatment is escalating and it is our children who are suffering,” Parker noted. “In imposing this ideology, we are not being kind but cruel. It is time for this to stop.”
